Dropped Headlight bars are all the same right? Well sort of but not all Hot Rod bodies are the same, especially the fibreglass front guards, vary in thickness and shape. Then where they sit on the chassis relative to everything else has differences too, however not that you would know until you go to fit a headlight bar and there it is ....... the bolt holes don't line up, it is way out.
To make it fit, the front guards have to be pushed down to create the length for it to fit. This usually creates tyre clearance issues, so the bar has to be cut and made shorter. This is where I can help, I can weld the stainless steel for you and re-polish the bar. No sending the bar out to be polished, I can cut it, position it, weld it and polish it in a day.
The centre section is usually hollow and a thin wall tube, the ends are cast stainless steel, so knowing where to cut is key to not stuffing up the headlight bar. There is more to just cutting and welding, there is a lot of shape in that bar and it needs to look right from all angles, so there is a fair amount of fitting work involved. It has to be fitted to the car as it sits, so if it is a new build the guards have to be fitted perfectly.
These last three pics show the finished unit all welded up, polished and refitted.
